I love the life I’ve written. I love what I have. It’s good material. It’s real. It’s filled with love. I have no intention of letting any of that core material go. But I am an editor in my soul. I like to revise, improve, focus, refine. I will not change the meaning of any of it. I just intend to take what I already have and make it better. Make it shine.
This year, I will turn 40. So will my husband. We will also celebrate our 15th wedding anniversary. So I/we have some things in the works. More to come on that. For now, this is what I’ve got…
(Side note: my use of “intentions” vs. resolutions is intentional. If 2013 taught me anything, it’s that plans can and will change in an instant.)
2014 intentions:
-
I intend to spend more quality time with family, my own & extended.
I intend to make time for my close friends. This is a must. There is simply no substitute for the laughter that comes from time with old friends.
I intend to clean out the clutter of my home—too much stuff clutters the mind.
I intend to spread kindness, through my actions and my words. I do not intend to waste energy with people who prefer bitterness to kindness.
I intend to eat healthier and live healthier, but that also means mental health—I do not intend to deprive myself of the things that make me happy.
I intend to be more present in everyday life. To put the phone down and enjoy more moments for what they are.
I intend to see lots of live music. Always music. It’s my escape. It makes me happy and it’s kinda my thing.
Most of all, I intend to love my life. The ups, the downs. It all adds up to a well-written story.
